BAVARIAN. In a joint effort to promote sustainability and contribute to the care of the environment, the Punta Cana Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) and Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana celebrate the opening of an innovative photovoltaic park in the hotel facilities.
With the installation of 1,680 photovoltaic modulesThe project will generate an estimated 1,867 MWh of energy per year with a power of 1.00MWp, and will avoid the emission of 1,320 tons of CO2 annually, equivalent to 1,098 barrels of oil. This important step not only ensures a sustainable source of energy for hotel operations, but also mitigates the environmental impact associated with traditional energy generation.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana has implemented a Carbon Footprint Reduction and Compensation Plan, which covers strategies from the construction phase to post-operation projects. As part of its sustainability policy, it focuses on processes that promote energy savings, such as the construction of a photovoltaic plant to provide 18% renewable energy to the system, the reduction of the use of fossil fuels with 70% electric cars, a chilled water cooling system, and a hot water storage system with thermal insulation of the pipes. In addition, CO2 emissions are offset by planting trees, with a total of 1,541 T/CO2 offset in 2023.
The newly inaugurated photovoltaic plant is an integral part of the active phase of execution of key projects within the “CEPM Zero” initiative, with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality at CEPM and becoming one of the first zero-emission and 100 electricity companies. % renewable in the world.
In addition, this effort is complemented by the expansion of the infrastructure and storage systems of 110 MW, strengthening the robustness of the network of this electric company. As part of this strategic plan, CEPM is collaborating closely with hotel, industrial and commercial clients in the installation of photovoltaic parks, sharing the purpose of converting the eastern area of the country into a world-renowned model of sustainable development.
