Punta Cana.- Over 500 councilors and local leaders from 33 Latin American nations are in Punta Cana for the first Summit of Latin American Councilors. The summit, which lasts until November 2, targets five key areas of municipal growth. It aims to provide practical resources to councilors and catalyze partnerships that will enhance urban management and life quality in Latin American cities.
The summit will conclude with a Final Declaration. This document will detail the collective commitments and vision for the future of Latin American cities. It will highlight the councilors’ determination to construct sustainable, inclusive communities through transparent, resilient municipal leadership.
Coordinated by the Dominican Association of Vocals (ADOVA), the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), the Dominican Federation of Municipal Districts (FEDODIM), and the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities, and Municipal Associations (FLACMA), the summit’s goal is fortifying municipal governance and devising a shared strategy to tackle urban challenges regionally.
