Punta Cana.- The inaugural Summit of Latin American Councilors is currently taking place in Punta Cana. Over 500 councilors and local leaders from 33 Latin American countries are present. The summit, which ends on November 2, concentrates on five municipal development areas. Its goal is to enhance urban management and quality of life in Latin American cities.
The summit concludes with a final declaration. This document outlines the common commitments and vision for Latin American cities’ future. It reinforces councilors’ commitment to forming sustainable, inclusive communities through resilient municipal leadership.
The Dominican Association of Vocals (ADOVA), the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), the Dominican Federation of Municipal Districts (FEDODIM), and the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities, and Municipal Associations (FLACMA) organized the summit. Its purpose is to enhance municipal governance and tackle regional urban issues.
