Punta Cana.- Over 500 councilors and local leaders from 33 Latin American countries have convened in Punta Cana for the first Summit of Latin American Councilors, ending on November 2. The summit looks at five critical areas of municipal development. It aims to provide councilors with essential tools and encourage alliances for better urban management and quality of life in Latin American cities.
The summit ends with a Final Declaration mirroring councilors’ promises and vision for Latin American cities’ future. It underscores their commitment to creating resilient and inclusive communities via transparent municipal leadership.
The summit aims to boost municipal governance and develop a common plan to tackle urban issues. It is organized by the Dominican Association of Vocals (ADOVA), in collaboration with the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), the Dominican Federation of Municipal Districts (FEDODIM), and the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities, and Municipal Associations (FLACMA).
