Punta Cana.- More than 500 councilors and leaders from 33 Latin American countries are attending the Latin American Councilors’ Summit. This inaugural event will continue until November 2. The summit concentrates on enhancing local laws, promoting sustainable urban growth, propelling climate action, stimulating innovation in public management, and fostering global cooperation. The gathering intends to arm councilors with practical strategies, promote partnerships and enhance urban life in Latin American cities.
The summit will issue a Final Declaration. It will outline the joint commitments and vision of councilors towards Latin American cities. The document will underscore their commitment to creating sustainable, inclusive communities via transparent, resilient leadership.
The Dominican Association of Vocals (ADOVA), Dominican Municipal League (LMD), Dominican Federation of Municipal Districts (FEDODIM), and Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities, and Municipal Associations (FLACMA) have organized the summit. The aim is to enhance municipal governance and set a common agenda to tackle urban challenges regionally.
