Punta Cana- Punta Cana hosts the inaugural Summit of Latin American Councilors. Over 500 councilors and local leaders from 33 countries are present. The summit runs till November 2 and focuses on the municipal development. The areas of focus are improving legislative bodies, sustainable urban growth, climate action, innovation in public management, and global cooperation. It aims to provide practical tools and foster alliances for better urban management and quality of life in Latin American cities.
The Final Declaration will mark the end of the summit. This document outlines the commitments and future vision for Latin American cities. It highlights the councilors’ commitment to creating sustainable, inclusive and resilient communities through transparent leadership.
The event is organized by ADOVA, LMD, and FEDODIM, in alliance with FLACMA. The aim is to bolster municipal governance and address urban challenges on a regional scale.
