22 companies certified as Authorized Economic Operators by the DGA

Santo Domingo.– The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) has certified 22 companies as Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), with the aim of promoting and streamlining international trade from the Dominican Republic.

The AEO Program has certified a total of 313 companies in the last three years, of which 222 simplified AEOs and 91 international AEOs. This certification allows companies to reduce costs and streamline foreign trade operations, according to a DGA statement.

In a recent event, certificates were delivered to these newly certified and revalidated companies that meet the minimum security requirements and undergo purification and validation processes.

Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, general director of Customs, highlighted the continuity of the AEO Program as an example of state commitment, with more than 615 companies accredited to date. He highlighted the evolution of the program from an administrative program under the DGA to a legally enforced initiative through Customs Law 168-21. In addition, he highlighted the benefits for new companies through the simplified OAS figure, which represents a significant advance for the country's trade.

Lucía Zorilla, Deputy Director General of the DGA, reported a growth of more than 100% in AEO certifications, indicating the great interest and commitment of the private sector to supply chain security through the adoption of best practices and compliance with minimum security requirements.

Among the certified companies are Aluvinsa Industrial SRL, Americapital SRL, Bepensa Dominicana SA, Compañía Internacional de Negocios GM SRL, Consorcio Energético Punta Cana Macao SA and Air Ocean International SRL, as well as Philip Morris Dominicana SA, among others.
