Punta Cana Mosque Safety Under Scrutiny Near Gas Station

Concerns over Punta Cana mosque safety have emerged as activist Isaac B. Colón, known as @TalibanRD, files a formal complaint with the Dominican Republic’s Special Prosecutor’s Office for Environmental Protection.

The complaint targets the Nurul-Islam Mosque, located along the Turístico del Este Boulevard, due to its proximity to a liquefied petroleum gas (GLP) station. Colón is requesting technical inspections, verification of safety distances, environmental permits, and fire prevention protocols.

Colón argues that if authorities confirm the mosque was built in violation of safety and environmental regulations, demolition should be considered. The construction had previously been halted due to permit-related concerns raised by local officials.

This legal action follows ongoing public debate on social media and marks a shift from online discussion to formal legal challenge. The case adds to recent discussions about infrastructure oversight in the area, including local governance and planning.
