The fieldwork was conducted as part of commitments made by central government authorities and the District Board after a meeting held at the Diocese of La Altagracia Bishopric headquarters. This initiative aims to refine land use criteria, addressing concerns raised by local stakeholders over initial classifications that impact urban and economic development.

Results will be submitted to the Punta Cana Municipal Council to assist in reassessing land classifications and identifying urban and developable zones. The findings may lead to adjustments in the initial POT draft, which has faced scrutiny from local stakeholders.

This review aims to align land use policies with the region’s evolving tourism and economic dynamics. The data could influence future infrastructure projects and zoning regulations, particularly in areas experiencing commercial growth like Friusa.
