The new starting point at El Lago provided a scenic and immersive setting for the swim, enhancing the experience for both competitors and spectators. The full route tested endurance and strategy across the three disciplines while highlighting key locations within Cap Cana.

“This milestone edition reflects the growth of the event and our commitment to evolving with the sport,” said Rosanna Peláez, CEO of MOVE, the event’s organizing body. “Tri Cap Cana contributes to strengthening sports tourism, promoting active lifestyles, and creating family-friendly gathering spaces.”

Over the past decade, the event has drawn athletes from the Dominican Republic and abroad, offering categories for triathlon, duathlon, and running races. The 2026 edition maintained that tradition, featuring solo and relay teams, volunteers, and organizers in a full day of competition.

In the Sprint Triathlon, Jorge Emanuel Alemanez Martínez (men) and Isabel Rodríguez Silverio (women) took first place. David Ballesta García and Leslie Amat Álvarez won the Olympic Triathlon in their respective categories. The relay category was led by the team of Elieser Grullon.

Duathlon and 5K/10K race results were also announced, with top finishes across age and gender divisions. Full standings for the Duatlón Sprint will be released at a later date.
