The Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) and the Dominican Restaurant Association (Dressings) announced the seventh version of SDQ Gastronomic. This initiative aims to elevate the culinary sector by highlighting innovative proposals that enhance the dining experience.
President David Llibreof Asonahores stated that they aim to promote the Dominican Republic as a gastronomic destination in the region. This will enhance the tourist experience and satisfy visitors.
They encourage creating a unique dining experience where diners can explore the country through local products and dishes prepared by renowned chefs. This initiative aims to position the Dominican Republic as a culinary reference in the region.
On the other hand, President Omar Cepedaof Aderes expressed a commitment to elevate national gastronomy through sustainable practices. They aim to professionalize collaborators and dynamize commercial activity to showcase the country’s culture.
Furthermore, they are working on a national plan for sustainable gastronomic tourism with the help of the Basque Culinary Center. This will help them create sustainable proposals to be recognized internationally.
The institution presented the dates for the upcoming Restaurant Week. It will showcase gastronomy from different destinations to create a unique culinary journey for diners.
The Restaurant Week will be available in Santiago, Punta Cana, and Santo Domingo on specific dates. It aims to strengthen the culinary industry and attract more diners to emblematic restaurants in these cities.
Moreover, awards were given to the winners of the Restaurant Week 2023. Restaurants in Santo Domingo, Santiago, and Punta Cana were recognized for their exceptional culinary offerings.
