PUNTA CANA.- With the participation of 122 players in three categories, the Dominican Association of Home Builders and Developers (Acoprovi), held the 8th edition of its golf tournament held at Punta Espada Golf Club, where the main leaders of the housing sector met. construction.

In the 18-hole tournament held in pairs, in scramble mode with categories A, B and C, Acoprovi delivered a donation of RD$200,000.00 to Habitat for Humanity Dominican Republic, a non-profit organization that advocates and works for the right to adequate housing and sustainable improvement of community habitat.

Among the tournament’s winning players are Yoshiro Iguchi and Andrés Marranzini, who won first place in category A; Ernesto Mejía and Roberto Lamarche, in category B; and Edigarbo Garcia and Manuel A. Troncoso in category C.

The president of Acoprovi, Annerys Meléndez, highlighted that the tournament seeks for the players in the construction sector to be able to interact and start businesses, in an environment that allows them to enjoy this sport with great colleagues and friends.

“We congratulate the winners, who had an exceptional participation and demonstrated that more than representatives and decision makers of the construction and housing sector, they are excellent players. Thanks to the more than 80 sponsors for being part of the development of the tournament and the donation to Habitat for Humanity”, said Meléndez.

The past presidents of the association, Francisco González and José Rodríguez Cáceres, played in an innovative format, for which they received the special prize called Los Fundadores.

According to Rafael Aybar and Guido Rosario, members of the Acoprovi golf committee and board of directors, this 8th version included a wide variety of prizes, such as special access for two people to the Phoenix Open Golf tournament that It is played in the metropolitan area of ​​the city of Phoenix, Arizona, United States.

Among the second place winners of the three categories are respectively: Alberto Vargas and Luis Eduardo Aybar; Joan Jimenez and Fredd Reyes; and Fermin Acosta and Fermin A. Acosta. Meanwhile, in third place were Neit Nivar and Julio Cross; Cesar Garcia and Manuel Fernandez; Jaime Abreu Malla and José Ramón Piñeyro.

During the tournament, special Longest Drive prizes were awarded to Fernando Rodríguez (Hole 5), Neit Nivar (Hole 6), Gonzalo Pérez (Hole 9), José Columna (Hole 11) and Germán Puello (Hole 12).

The players Rafael Santana (Hole 4), César García (Hole 7), Michel Podestá (Hole 13) and Manuel Martínez (Hole 16) also won the “Close to the pin” prize, while the “Precision Drive” Fredd Reyes (Hole 3) and Germán Puello (Hole 18) won.
