The airline Air Century, reported that it already has the operating permits for the Punta Cana-Miami and Punta Cana-New York routes, which they expect to start in the coming months after completing other procedures.
This was reported by the CEO and founder of the airline, Omar Chahin Lama, in an interview for the Arecoa portal, where he also indicated that for these routes they would be using an Airbus A320 with capacity for 180 passengers.
“We have the ‘Project Grow’ and with it we intend to expand our routes and at the same time fill each plane and be able to sell cheap tickets to Miami, New York, and obviously contribute our bit to bring tourists from the aforementioned nations of the United States,” added.
He explained that they started with three frequencies. «It is still in plans, it is not 100% sure, perhaps it is those three or more; Everything will depend on the planning that you manage to do with some tour operators in the area.
He said that at the same time they intend to combine the new operations of the airline with those they already carry out on the islands. “We will also take all the points that we touch in South and Central America to be able to connect Punta Cana with those points to continue to the United States.”
It is recalled that Air Century will be starting a dozen new direct and regular routes from the Punta Cana International Airport with a view to carrying out up to 553 round-trip flights, and thus consolidating the air connectivity of the Dominican Republic, while allowing more passengers to travel to and from the Dominican territory.
