The Dominican Republic has achieved a major milestone in strengthening its air connectivity with Europe. Beginning January 13, 2026, Air France will relaunch its direct flights between Paris and Punta Cana, offering travelers from France a seamless connection to the Caribbean’s most visited destination.
The announcement was made during the official opening of the Dominican Republic’s stand at IFTM Top Resa, one of France’s leading international travel trade shows, where the country is honored this year as a partner nation.
Tourism Leaders Celebrate New Route
The event was led by David Collado, Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, who was joined by key figures from the public and private sectors. Among them were Ambassador David Puig, business leader Frank Elías Rainieri, and Laurence Gaborieau, Director of IFTM Top Resa.
Their presence underscored the strategic importance of this route, which is expected to strengthen not only tourist arrivals but also the country’s visibility in one of Europe’s most competitive markets.
A Route Secured with Strong Commitment
The agreement with Air France was made possible through months of negotiations led by Frank Elías Rainieri, a pioneer in Punta Cana’s tourism development. He confirmed that the new air service will be permanent, offering three weekly flights. The route will connect Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport directly with Punta Cana International Airport, one of the busiest and most modern gateways in the Caribbean.
Boost to Punta Cana’s International Appeal
This flight relaunch represents a significant boost for Punta Cana’s real estate market, hospitality sector, and overall tourism investment opportunities. With France being one of the Dominican Republic’s fastest-growing visitor markets, the direct connection is expected to drive higher tourist arrivals, improve accessibility, and increase interest from European investors.
