Santo Domingo—The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) has announced intermittent disruptions in the Instant Payments service. These interruptions will occur between 12:00 noon and 11:00 p.m. on October 5, 2024. This is due to a global business continuity exercise conducted by the bank.
The interruption will primarily affect economic agents, financial entities, and the general public who use this service during the stipulated timeframe.
The bank is conducting this exercise in partnership with SWIFT Corporation. They are responsible for global payment messaging services.
The BCRD apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause its users. It maintains that these exercises are vital for ensuring the safety and quality of financial operations in the country.
