APTPRA opens new bus terminal in Bavaria

Bavaro, Punta Cana.- The Association of Public Transport Bus Owners of the Province of La Altagracia (APTPRA) has invested over 400 million pesos to build the most advanced station in the country. The new two-level facility covers a large plot of 3,000 square meters, with a construction size of 970 meters.

The station is more than just a departure and arrival point, it is ready to offer a high-quality public transportation service, significantly contributing to the economic development of the region.

With a waiting room for 80 people, a cafeteria, a package delivery area, well-equipped bathrooms, an executive meeting room, a nursing room, a locker, a children’s area, and 50 surveillance cameras ensuring security throughout the terminal, the facility is designed for maximum comfort.

To enhance the user experience, the station includes six commercial spaces, eight bus parking spaces, a sound system with background music and useful information, as well as Wi-Fi service.

During his speech, Mr. Junior Castro Montilla, President of APTPRA, emphasized that this moment marks a milestone in the association’s history, showcasing the collective effort and dedication of all project contributors.

“With these new buses, manufactured with the highest quality standards, we are ready to offer a safe and efficient transportation service, connecting our province of La Altagracia with the whole country,” said Montilla.

He pointed out that APTPRA, equipped with modern infrastructure and top-notch vehicles, is prepared to deliver a safe, efficient, and comfortable transportation service connecting Bávaro with Santo Domingo and beyond.

“Our commitment to the progress and well-being of our community remains strong. We will continue to create jobs, promote economic development, and offer a transportation service that stands out in the Dominican Republic, the Caribbean, and Central America,” emphasized the Altagracia transportation executive.

Castro Montilla expressed gratitude to the investors, collaborators, friends, and family whose unwavering support turned this dream into a reality. He also acknowledged the Martí group, representative of the Volvo brand, for their collaboration and financing, enabling APTPRA to acquire the latest generation vehicles manufactured in Brazil, including six with Marcopolo bodywork, generation 8, and two with Comil bodywork.

The new terminal will operate eight buses providing transportation services from Bávaro to Santo Domingo and vice versa, from 5:30 am to 5:00 pm. Additionally, a delivery service will be available from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The opening ceremony was attended by company directors, collaborators, civil and military authorities of La Altagracia, businessmen, transporters, and media representatives.
