The Caribbean remains one of the destinations referred to by Argentines for vacation, as it managed to remain in the top 3 of favorite destinations. January took 45% of the total trips, February 30%, and March, for now, 25%, according to the agency Travel Services.
The most chosen by Argentines tend to be: Mexico (Cancun and Playa del Carmen) Dominican Republic (Punta Cana and Bayahibe) and Cuba. In another order, and on a smaller scale, Panama, Costa Rica, and Aruba join.
Among them, the agency detailed that Punta Cana, Cancun, Bayahibe, and Carmen beach are the 4 most purchased vacation destinations from January to March.
It is highlighted that the peak of purchases to travel to the Caribbean occurred in October 2023. The average stay of Argentines remained at 7 nights throughout the 3 months.
“The surprise this summer for Caribbean destinations is the leadership of Punta Cana, which had placed third in 2023 and now relegated its followers Cancún to second place and Playa del Carmen to third place in preferences. And Punta Cana will continue to be new because it is currently one of the most popular destinations abroad for Easter,” he indicated. Guido Boutet, marketing manager of Travel Services.
He said that Punta Cana, compared to other Caribbean destinations, has the characteristic of offering a good variety of rates and an offer of all-inclusive hotels, a condition increasingly valued by Argentines who seek to minimize the use of cash and avoid expenses during their trips abroad.
“The Caribbean has a diversity of destinations and always manages to position itself as an interesting option for vacations abroad. Who is in love with the Caribbean and wants to return will find options to travel at different times of the year. “We thought it would be difficult to sustain the success we had last year in the summer season but, as always, the Caribbean surprises and continues to be one of the favorite destinations of Argentines,” he added.
