Asonahores appreciates government’s commitment to supporting tourism investments

Santo Domingo, RD- The Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic, Asonahores, valued the public policies developed by the administration of President Luis Abinader as positive for being a boost to the growth of investment in the country's tourism industry.

David Llibre, president of Asonahores, indicated that their impact is seen in the development that the tourism sector exhibits due to the strategies implemented by the Dominican government through Minister David Collado. He cited as an example the construction of new hotel infrastructures in destinations such as Miches, Punta Bergantín and Cabo Rojo.

“At Asonahores we ratify our commitment to continue supporting the strategies promoted by the Dominican government and that, through the tourism sector, all productive sectors of the national economy,” said Llibre.

Likewise, he pointed out that the achievement of reaching 10 million visitors has been accompanied by a synergy between the public and private sectors in which a public investment strategy was given in the main tourist areas and in the new hubs.

As a result of the confidence in the country, in the next 3 years, the country will receive more than 9,000 new rooms distributed among 19 projects with an estimated investment of almost three billion dollars.

He stated that the increase in tourist flow has allowed the country to maintain leadership in the region and global recognition as the favorite destination in the Caribbean.
