Avianca Ranks as the World’s Most Punctual Airline in April, Reports Cirium

Bogotá.- For the fourth month in 2023, according to the Cirium ranking, Avianca was recognized as the most punctual global airline in the world in September, with more than 17,000 flights operated and an OTP (On Time Performance) indicator of 89.9%.

During the year, the airline has consistently remained within the top five positions in the ranking Candleoccupying second place in July and first in August and September.

“Without a doubt, this milestone demonstrates the dedication and discipline of more than 13,000 people who every day give everything so that our clients arrive safely, on time and with all their luggage at their destination. The figures speak for themselves, not only did we maintain first place, we also increased the punctuality indicator three points compared to the month of August, reaching 89.9% for September. We are now focused on preparing the operation for the winter season, which will have a significant increase in capacity, for which we will need the teamwork of all the actors in the sector, stated Frederico Pedreira, Deputy CEO of Avianca.

Likewise, Avianca indicated that given the authority’s declaration to increase capacity to 74 operations per hour – number of takeoffs and landings – for the Summer season at the El Dorado airport, it is essential that all actors in the sector work together to deliver consistent and punctual service.
