Banreservas Volunteering collaborated with the National Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores) to launch the Labor Inclusion Program. This transformative initiative focuses on social inclusion and providing job opportunities to the young population of the Dominican Republic, coinciding with the celebration of World Tourism Day.
Noelia García de Pereyra, who leads the Volunteers, commented, “Our initiative is a landmark in our dedication to socioeconomic growth. It emphasizes the importance of partnerships and cooperation in creating a fairer future.”
The execution of this project is a significant stride in labor inclusion, positively affecting the families and the communities involved.
“Training diverse professionals enables us to change our outlook towards inclusion, break stereotypes, and set a precedent for long-lasting change in our society.”, she added.
David Llibre, president of Asonahores, detailed their objective to foster an inclusive organizational culture within the hotel industry. This endeavor aims to raise awareness about the significance of disabled workers in the tourism sector and to highlight their invaluable contribution to the industry’s development.
“We at Asonahores are dedicated to enhancing our tourism services by showing empathy toward the inclusion of the disabled, making our industry more productive, accessible, and empathetic for everyone.” Llibre explained during World Tourism Day.
Garcia de Pereyra mentioned that “We are grateful to be contributing to this project, which undoubtedly forges a promising path for a different future. Our dedication lies in promoting education and inclusion, and we will strive together for the prosperity of all Dominicans“, she expressed at the event held at the Marriott Hotel.
Llibre stressed that this initiative is in line with the vision of an inclusive job market, where every young individual gets a chance to organically and effectively blend in, particularly in the thriving tourism sector of the country. By offering training and required tools, the organization ensures these young people lay the groundwork for a comprehensive inclusion process.
Llibre reiterated that this program not only benefits individuals, it also fortifies the national economy by endorsing an inclusive and diverse workplace.
