Cabeza de Toro, La Altagracia, DR. – This Wednesday, President Luis Abinader inaugurated 3 projects in this province, which include the Cabeza de Toro tourist dock, a nursing home, and a Community Technology Center (CTC).
The president, together with the executive director of the Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM), Jean Luis Rodríguez, inaugurated the Cabeza de Toro fishing dock. It will benefit around 30,000 fishermen formally registered at the national level, improving their living conditions and labor. During the ribbon-cutting of the Yacht Club, the president emphasized the importance of small investments, like this work, which will enhance sport fishing. He also mentioned that this project will make Cabeza de Toro a great destination in Punta Cana and the country.
The director of APORDOM highlighted that the fishing dock in Cabeza de Toro is now a reality after one year, providing people with the structure they deserve. He praised the support of President Luis Abinader in delivering a dignified work for the local community and visitors.
The Cabeza de Toro tourist dock is one of the 14 docks planned to be inaugurated in the country by 2023. It consists of 2 breakwaters, 4 walkways, and a recreation gazebo. This construction will improve the living and working conditions of the community while generating more jobs and investments. It will also provide a source of high nutritional value food for the population.
The executive director of CODOPESCA reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fishermen, mentioning that pensions were granted to Dominican fishermen, including those in La Altagracia. The Navy of the Republic will also deliver vessels in good condition for the fishing sector.
President Luis Abinader and the Executive Director of CONAPE inaugurated a modern reception center for the elderly in San Rafael de Yuma. This is part of the president’s plan to make the community the first elderly-friendly municipality, ensuring dignity and autonomy for older adults. The home has modern facilities and will provide comprehensive development services and monitoring for the needs of older adults.
President Abinader also inaugurated the Community Technology Center (CTC) in San Rafael del Yuma. With an investment of over RD 20 million, this center will promote the development of the municipality, offering training opportunities for more than 4,500 young people. They will receive lessons in various fields such as digital marketing, cybersecurity, and computer repair.
The implementation of the CTC will benefit young people and strengthen their curriculum through the collaboration of the CTC director and INFOTEP director.
