punta cana. the north, central american and caribbean confederation (concacaf) together with the cap cana group, broke ground for the construction of a modern soccer sports center in the dominican republic, which will have an investment between 30 to 40 million dollars.
the event was headed by david collado, minister of tourism, who stated that this is the largest investment being made in sports tourism in the entire region. “we are determined to promote our country as a sports tourist destination,” said callado.
this center will have seven training fields, and a soccer studio as well as administrative offices.
while fernando hazoury appreciated that concacaf chose this area of the country as the setting to have this football center that will be the most important in the region, “they saw in cap cana a complete city, a tourist city, with peace and security and at the same time many other services and they saw a complete city,” he added.
