Santo Domingo.- The tenth edition of the Economic and Financial Week 2024 (#sefBCRD) will be celebrated by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) from March 18 to 22, in collaboration with the global initiative Global Money Week, as announced by the institution on Tuesday.
Under the hashtag #sefBCRD, this week-long event will feature the participation of 46 public and private entities, who will develop a diverse program of free, in-person activities.
The Central Bank auditorium in Santo Domingo and the Regional Office in Santiago de los Caballeros will be open to children and young people from 1st to 6th grade of secondary school, university students and the general public.
The programmed activities aim to provide participants with educational and entertaining experiences, covering topics such as the culture of savings, personal financial management, fundamental concepts of economics and finance, responsible use of credit cards, identification of coins and banknotes in circulation, tax knowledge, business lending methodologies and knowledge of the stock market.
The announcement highlights the conference ‘Black Swans: a growing challenge for the news media’, which will be presented by the Spanish journalist Fernando Díaz Villanueva.
The agenda also includes the awards ceremony for the 11th ‘Economists of the Future’ academic competition, adding an extra layer of importance to the week’s events.
