Certification of 22 companies as International and Simplified Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) by DGA

They are distributed in six companies as Simplified Authorized Economic Operator (OAS-S), five as new international OAS, and another eleven were revalidated as OAS.

Santo Domingo, DR. The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) certified 22 companies as Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) to ensure and facilitate international trade and consolidate confidence in the security of the logistics chain of the Dominican Republic.

The AEO program has certified 313 companies in the past three years. 222 are Simplified OAS and 91 are International OAS, making them more efficient and agile in their logistics chain, reducing costs and streamlining foreign trade operations.

Certificates were granted to new and revalidated companies at the event. These companies comply with minimum security requirements and undergo rigorous validation processes, representing trust and security for the DGA.

The general director of Customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, stated that the OAS Program exemplifies the best of the Dominican State and continuity. With order, discipline, and without political flags, Dominicans can set an example in Latin America, with over 615 accredited companies today.

For the first time, an airport, such as Punta Cana International Airport, received this certification, showcasing the increased logistics in the Dominican economy, according to Sanz Lovatón.

The official emphasized how the OAS Program transformed from an administrative program to having legal force through the new Customs Law 168-21. New companies can now benefit from the regime, advancing commerce in the country and contributing to the goal of making the nation a logistical hub in the region.

Lucía Zorilla, deputy director general of the DGA, highlighted the program’s more than 100% growth in AEO certifications. It demonstrates the private sector’s interest and commitment to supply chain security through good practices and minimum security requirements.

Alberto Smith, director of operations at Punta Cana Airport, thanked the DGA for supporting the entire certification process. The entity aligns with the vision of President Luis Abinader to make the country a world-class logistical hub for the benefit of all.

Companies receiving certifications include Aluvinsa Industrial SRL, Americapital SRL, Bepensa Dominicana SA, amongst others.
