The Colombian ambassador to the Dominican Republic recognized the increase in tourists interested in visiting both the Caribbean country and the South American destination.
Darío Villamizar Herrera, when interviewed, assured that some 350 thousand Colombian tourists would be arriving in the country in 2023, while Dominican visitors to different parts of Colombia could exceed 100 thousand in the indicated period.
Colombia and the DR have an excellent tourism relationship since both countries are receiving a large number of visitors, he said.
He said that only in 2022 the Caribbean country received 300 thousand Colombians, while 90 thousand Dominicans arrived in Colombia.
When asked what destinations Dominicans visit in Colombia, the ambassador highlighted Bogotá, Medellín and Cali, among others.
Colombians visit Punta Cana a lot and in recent months they have been interested in getting to know the Colonial Zone and taking walks along the Santo Domingo boardwalk, he noted.
