A commission headed by Minister David Collado was in Germany exhausting a work agenda during the week of the important fair.

Last Tuesday, March 5, during the first day of work at the ITB Berlin fair, Minister David Collado held a series of meetings and agreements with different airlines to guarantee direct flights between Germany and the Dominican Republic, as part of the strategies to strengthen the Dominican tourism in these markets.

The agreements were carried out between Condor Airline, with 9 weekly flights from Frankfurt distributed between Punta Cana, Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata, Discover Airlines 5 weekly flights from Frankfurt to Punta Cana and Edelwisse Air, three weekly flights to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana from Zurich.

In 2023, the Dominican Republic received 146,242 visitors from Germany, making it the 4th most important tourist issuing country for our country, while from Switzerland we received 42,514, ranking 7th in issuing tourists from Europe.

During his work agenda in Berlin, the minister also held a roadshow for 260 travel agents, tour operators and German airlines, an initiative that has been carried out by the Ministry of Tourism already on 58 occasions in the United States, Canada, Europe and LATAM. in the period of three years.
