The Dominican Republic Ambassador in Honduras, Luis García, spoke of two agreements between the countries. He outlined their potential influence on tourism and trade.
On July 31, an air-trade agreement was signed by the Dominican Republic and Honduras. According to García, this will spur tourism and business trade between the nations.
The promotion for a direct route from Santo Domingo to Tegucigalpa, Honduras is underway. Furthermore, there’s currently no existence of such routes. Flight tickets are typically via Miami, Panama, and Colombia,” he added.
The ambassador stated that this achievement will impact tourism. He noted that it will also be advantageous for transporting Honduran agricultural products and medical tools.
On October 5 in Punta Cana, a second agreement was signed. It was about collaboration in tourism between the Tourism Institute of Honduras and the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism.
According to García, the Dominican Republic shared its successful tourism experience through this agreement. He pointed out that the country welcomed 10 million tourists last year.
Lastly, the ambassador added that he views tourism as a partnership opportunity for the two governments. Consequently, this creates strategic alliances to attract diverse tourists, such as those captivated by culture, as reported by Nuevo Diario.
