Colombia is currently the fifth tourist issuer in the Dominican Republic. This market represents great opportunities for growth. It’s due to the popularity of Dominican vacation centers in that South American country. Also, powerful air connectivity has been created by the airline Arajet between both countries.
To increase the arrival of Colombians and the entire South American region, leaders of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and Asonahores will attend the Anato Showcase event from February 28 to March 1.
In the case of Asonahores, the main manager David Llibre will participate in the Colombian tourism fair. The tourist representative will board a special Arajet flight departing on Tuesday the 27th from Santo Domingo, with a short stopover in Puerto Plata before landing in Bogotá.
Colombians, Brazilians, Argentines, already show great attraction for the star destination of the DR: Punta Cana. The objective now is to promote the offer of Puerto Plata, a destination performing well on cruises, but still not seeing significant growth in hotels.
