SANTO DOMINGO: La Altagracia’s construction businessmen have made a case to the Government. They stress the need for building infrastructure and works in the east. This is to cater to the growth in the Dominican Republic’s main tourist center.
The La Altagracia Tourism Business Alliance recently discussed various issues with Vice President Raquel Peña. They aim to develop Bávaro-Punta Cana further.
José Sánchez, Alliance’s president, emphasized the need for better roads and waterworks. His focus is on strengthening wastewater treatment facilities in the area.

“Our objective is to preserve foreign and local investments. We aim to support hospitality, tourism, and national economic growth,” highlighted the businessman.
The spokesperson appreciated the president and vice president for withdrawing the tax reform proposal. They consider it a sign of democracy and openness.
A press release notes that Alliance members have developed over 65,000 rooms in the area. They aim to construct around 100K housing units in the next seven years, requiring an investment over 12 billion dollars.
The press release further adds that these projects will generate over 65,000 direct and indirect jobs. They aim for sustained growth in this key Caribbean tourist destination.
The meeting held at the National Palace discussed challenges in Verón, Bávaro-Punta Cana area. They spoke about project permissions, investments, and priority work to support economic and social growth.
Several representatives participated in the meeting. They represent about 70% of investments in Bávaro-Punta Cana, contributing to the region and the country’s economic growth.
