SANTO DOMINGO.- Construction businessmen from La Altagracia province have expressed the need for road infrastructure to the Government. They believe it will aid tourism growth in the Dominican Republic.
They formed La Altagracia Tourism Business Alliance and met with Vice President Raquel Peña. Their goal is the growth of Bávaro-Punta Cana.
José Sánchez, the president of the Alliance, emphasized on improving infrastructure. He also suggested constructing a modern aqueduct and strengthening wastewater treatment.

The businessmen focused on maintaining sustainable local and foreign investments. They emphasized its importance for tourism growth.
They praised the president and vice president for withdrawing the tax reform proposal. They considered it a symbol of democracy.
The Alliance revealed plans to build approximately 100,000 housing units in the next seven years. This requires an investment of more than 12 billion dollars.
The projected works will generate over 65,000 jobs. It will boost the economic growth of Caribbean’s premier tourist destinations.
The meeting held at the National Palace highlighted challenges faced by the Verón, Bávaro-Punta Cana area. They discussed project approvals, investments, and priority works for continued economic growth.
Officials like Senator for La Altagracia, Rafael Duluc participated in the meeting. Several other representatives also attended. They account for 70% of investments in Bávaro-Punta Cana. The region is thus an economic growth engine for the country.
