Cambridge, United States.- Sixteen-year-old Dominican student, Kimberly Samboy, has earned recognition as the Best Delegation in the press committee of Harvard University's esteemed Model United Nations for high school students.
This achievement comes amid a gathering of more than 3,600 young participants from 50 countries, and the award was presented on Sunday, January 28.
Kimberly's skills in writing, public speaking, and audiovisual creation during the four-day event earned her the admiration of the judging committee.
In her recognition, her passion for communication was especially highlighted.
From an early age, Kimberly has shown a keen interest in being an agent of change.
She was a Finalist for the 2023 National Youth Award in the pre-university category, representing the country in important international conferences.
Notably, at the GlobalMUNers Conference in New York City 2023, she took first place as a press correspondent.
In the next edition she will join the evaluation committee, becoming one of the youngest people in this role
Kimberly, a student at APEC Fernando Arturo de Meriño School, has faced a challenging journey to achieve these achievements.
As of 2020, she began creating educational and entertaining content, sharing interviews, reports, and interactive videos.
Throughout her high school education, Kimberly actively participated in Reading-Writing, Physics, and Speech Olympiads.
Her speech titled “We are all Homeland” reflects her dream of uniting diverse Dominican realities as a testimony of the country's impact.
This speech secured him first place in the contest.
Kimberly's achievements extend to the publication of an article on the portal of the United Nations Information Center for Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
Continuing her academic career, Kimberly will expand her studies in leadership, literature, philosophy and culture through the selective summer program at the prestigious Yale University.
This venture aims to open doors in the world of literature and content creation.
