Festuris Brasil 2024: Dominican Republic to be Honored as Guest Country

Gramado, Brazil. – The 36th Festuris – Brazil International Tourism Fair, recognized as the most efficient tourism trade event in the Americas, has selected the Dominican Republic as its country of honor.

Festuris 2024 is planned to be held from November 7 to 10, at the Serra Park Pavilion in Gramado (RS)

It’s the 36th occasion of the event, which began over 30 years ago with the aim of fostering connections between brands and destinations, and facilitating people’s contribution to tourism progress.

Exhibiting at Festuris 2024 will be over 2,000 brands from across 60 countries. Among the attractions are themed venues, including Espaço Luxury, Espaço Mice, Espaço Tech and Espaço Green. There will also be opportunities for attendees to be part of conferences, workshops, business discussions and networking events.

Eduardo Zorzanello, the CEO of Festuris, revealed that the Dominican Republic has joined Argentina and Uruguay in the list of previous distinctive guest counties at Festuris. He stated that these nations have played a significant role in prior editions of the event.

Zorzanello expressed his pleasure over the Dominican Republic being a guest country.

The appointment of the Dominican Republic as the guest of honor reflects the outstanding progress this central Caribbean location has made in the tourism industry.

Pointing out that the Dominican Republic has been consistently participating in the fair from the beginning, Zorzanello celebrated its evolution from the represented attendee to securing its own pavilion since the 2000s. He highlighted the long-term relationship the fair shares with the Dominican Republic, thanks to Brazil’s love for its attractions, particularly renowned beach destinations like Punta Cana.

Paola Gómez, director of the Dominican Republic Tourism Office in Brazil,

Paola Gómez, who heads the Dominican Republic Tourism Office in Brazil, mentioned that Festuris recognizing the country’s steady participation and determined promotional efforts towards Dominican attractions for Brazilian tourists, is a significant acknowledgment.

“The honor of being Festuris Gramado 2024’s guest country especially after the disastrous floods in Rio Grande do Sul fills us with excitement. We believe the state will rise stronger than before due to the resilience and tenacity of the gauchos,” Gómez voiced her expectations.

The Dominican Republic is home to over 200 stunning beaches stretching across more than 1,600 kilometers of coastline. The country not only offers picturesque beaches but also a multitude of adventure activities like ziplining, cavern exploration, rappelling, paragliding, white water rafting, surfing, and diving. Additionally, tourists can explore historical sites, churches, museums and natural parks, while enjoying spectacular landscapes, rivers, and waterfalls.

Festuris has been a pivotal event in Gramado since 1989. Apart from promoting discussions on current topics related to tourism, it serves as a significant platform for business that yields tangible results for exhibitors. In 2023, the fair attracted 2,500 brands, 15,000 attendees and 40 global locations, covering three pavilions and a total area of 27,000 square meters. Expectations for the 2024 edition are far-reaching, with the Dominican Republic taking center stage.
