Cap Cana, Dominican Republic – A fire erupted on Wednesday afternoon in the Villas Caletón area of Cap Cana, damaging several of the resort’s earliest villas, according to an official statement from the hotel group.
The blaze began around 5:30 p.m., affecting structures primarily built with wood and thatched roofs, materials which contributed to the rapid spread of the flames.
Emergency response teams, including the Fire Department and other local authorities, responded promptly and worked to contain and extinguish the fire.
In a brief statement, Cap Cana representatives confirmed their focus remains on fully extinguishing the fire before launching a formal investigation into its cause. “We are currently prioritizing efforts to control the blaze and will begin investigating the possible origin once it is safe to do so,” the statement read.
Officials also confirmed that no injuries or fatalities have been reported at this time.
Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses and assessments of property damage are conducted.
