Cap Cana and the Colombian company SBR Sports signed an agreement to carry out the Ironman 70.3 for the first time in the Dominican Republic, a competition that is planned to be held in 2024 with the format: 1.2 miles (1.9 km) swim, 59 miles (90 km) in bike and 13.1 miles (21 km) running.
