Flair Airlines, a Canadian airline characterized by its low fares, made its debut in the Dominican Republic with the launch of its Toronto-Punta Cana link. This inaugural flight marks the beginning of direct service between Toronto’s Pearson International Airport ( YYZ) and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). The route will begin offering more than five weekly flights and will increase to daily service on December 18.
Additionally, Flair will introduce a second route to Punta Cana International Airport from Ottawa International Airport (YOW) on December 23, with twice-weekly service.
“This marks a very exciting milestone for Flair Airlines as we proudly announce our first flights to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic,” said Stephen Jones, president and CEO of Flair Airlines.
“We couldn’t be happier to offer Canadians a new and exciting destination at an affordable price. “Expanding our network in the Caribbean is an important part of our growth strategy, and we can’t wait to welcome travelers on board for a sun-soaked getaway in Punta Cana,” he added.
For his part, Giovanni Rainieri, director of Air Operations at the Punta Cana International Airport, indicated that “We thank Flair Airlines for placing their trust in the Punta Cana International Airport and inviting us to be part of their expansion plans in the country. In order to promote tourism and economic growth between both nations. We are excited to welcome Canadian passengers on these new direct routes from Toronto and Ottawa. “We hope visitors experience the love of Dominican culture and the attributes of our people as soon as they set foot in our airport.”
One-way tickets, including fees and taxes, start at $150 on flights from Toronto and Ottawa. There are limited places and availability for these rates.
