Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – The highly anticipated fifth edition of the Punta Cana Grand Prix will pay tribute to a visionary in Dominican tourism: Frank Rainieri, the founder of Grupo Puntacana and widely regarded as the driving force behind the development of tourism in the eastern region of the country.

Mario de Jesús, general director of the Punta Cana Grand Prix, made the announcement earlier this week, emphasizing Rainieri’s immense contributions to the region. “Frank Rainieri has played a pivotal role in shaping Punta Cana into the world-class destination it is today. His leadership and dedication to tourism and regional development make him a deserving honoree for this year’s event,” said de Jesús.

International Cyclists to Descend on Punta Cana

The 2025 edition of the Punta Cana Grand Prix is expected to be the most competitive yet, featuring elite cyclists from across the Dominican Republic along with participants from over 15 countries. The event not only showcases top-tier athleticism but also promotes the beauty and tourism offerings of the Punta Cana region, reinforcing its reputation as a premier destination in the Caribbean.

Event Schedule and Race Details

The Grand Prix officially kicks off on Friday, June 6 at 7:00 a.m., with races starting from BlueMall Punta Cana and heading toward the Autovía del Coral. The day’s competition will include the Recreational, Women’s A and B, Master A, B, and C, and Pre-Master categories. Once completed, the Elite and Under-23 riders will take to the course, competing over varied distances based on category.

On Saturday, June 7, races will follow the same 7:00 a.m. start time, with the route beginning once again at BlueMall and concluding at Coral Toll #2 along the Autovía del Coral. The number of laps for each category will vary, ensuring a dynamic and challenging experience for all athletes.
