The Tax Reform amendment project has created tension in the tourism industry, but it has not overshadowed the opening of the XXXVI Commercial Exhibition by the Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES).
Many business individuals quietly shared their curiosity about what Vice President of the Republic Raquel Peña and Tourism Minister David Collado might have to say in their speeches about this proposal, which the hoteliers find unfavourable.
In their individual talks, they assured that they would seek some form of resolution that would not harm the industry.
Aguie Lendor, the executive vice president of Asonahores, stated that the Commercial Exhibition aims to foster production chain development and strengthen business ties to stimulate sustained growth in the tourism sector and benefit all stakeholders in the tourism industry.
