In Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic’s and Honduras’s Tourism Ministries inked a deal for tourism, heralding understanding.
The conference was graced by both countries’ senior authorities. Minister Yadira Gómez represented Honduras, whilst Minister Miguel David Collado Morales represented the host nation.
During the gathering, they highlighted that this treaty signifies a landmark of mutual cooperation and commitment to boost shared economic growth benefits and foster tourism development.
This understanding is anticipated to provide a robust platform for collaborative initiatives benefiting both nations.
Minister Gómez revealed her interest in sustaining cooperation in this vital sector and exchanging valuable practices with the Dominican Republic. She further asserted the intent to establish a task force for the treaty’s execution, considering Collado will be visiting Honduras soon.
“We are positive that this treaty will immensely enhance our communities, fostering not just financial growth but also social development and augmenting the affluence of our diverse and charming tourist heritage,” Gómez said.
It was highlighted during the signing that a Garifuna route’s creation was discussed as a result of this meeting between Africa and the Americas, leading to sustainable, comprehensive, and inclusive development between the regions.
Moreover, the role of both countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs was emphasized by both representatives. Simultaneously, the Dominican Republic embassy’s significant role in the Central American nation, managed by Ambassador Luis Bienvenido García Mercado, was appreciated for establishing institutional channels needed for this treaty’s execution.
This approach comes as part of the Foreign Policy strategy of the Government of Change, led by President Luis Abinader Corona.
