IDAC Reaffirms Its Dedication to Civil Aviation Development in Partnership with ICAO

In Montreal, the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation’s (IDAC) general director reiterated the Dominican Republic’s dedication to its role in fostering the growth of aviation in the region, in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Igor Rodríguez Durán conveyed that his team, composed of aviation experts and technicians, is devoted to upholding the country’s reputation as a principal benchmark for following the standards set by worldwide aviation authority.

Upon taking the helm of IDAC assigned by President Luis Abinader, we embraced this task with the integrity we’ve displayed throughout our professional careers, in both the private sector and now in public service.“, he declared.

He made these remarks during his speech at the concurrent meeting of Advanced Air Mobility Symposium (AAM), taking place in this northern city on the American continent.

IDACICAO Secretary General, Juan Carlos Salazar, thanked the Dominican Republic for the valuable contributions made as a member nation to international civil aviation.

Salazar stressed that ICAO is focusing on strengthening its organization through various pillars such as enhancing organizational culture, fostering leadership, and nurturing talent.

Igor Rodríguez expressed his gratitude towards ICAO President Salvatore Sciacchitano and Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar for acknowledging the Caribbean nation’s contribution to the regional aeronautical structure.

We’ll maintain our commitment to provide services that meet the highest standards of operational safety, as our objective is to elevate civil aviation to a higher plane.“, affirmed the IDAC chief.

Advanced Air Mobility Symposium 2024 gathers leaders from academia, industry, and government to discuss the latest advancements in air mobility.

The event will also be attended by Julio Peña Guzmán, ambassador and permanent representative of the Dominican Republic to ICAO, as well as Air Navigation directors, Claudia Roa; Gender Castro, Operational Safety Surveillance; and Claudio Martínez Turbí, Communications and Public Relations.
