Santo Domingo, RD.- The Dominican Association of Sports Marinas and Nautical Clubs presented the first board of directors of the entity with the objective of promoting the national Nautical-sports and recreational tourism industry.
Juan Bancalari, president of the entity, expressed that this association aims to promote a new chapter of the country’s tourism sector with a highly profitable activity to strengthen the complementary offer of the industry.
“Investment in infrastructure, marinas and their real estate supply today exceeds more than 1,000,000 million dollars, and represents a significant contribution to the economy and tourism promotion for the country,” said Bancalari.
He pointed out that the sports Marinas and Nautical Clubs generate more than 2,500 direct jobs among boat captains, marina and port staff.
In addition, he highlighted the support provided by the Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic, Asonahores.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Asonahoreswho have worked together to promote this new institution to benefit the development of nautical tourism in the country.
He highlighted that among the benefits generated by this type of tourism are the rental of aquatic equipment, sailing schools, food and beverage services, accommodation, vehicle rental and land excursions.
Currently the association has the main sports marinas in the country Marina Casa de Campo, Marina Capcana, Puerto Bahía, Ocean World, Marina Punta Cana, Punta Arena and DockSyde Marina, as well as the yacht clubs of Santo Domingo, a pioneer institution in nautical activities. of the country and the Monte Cristi yacht club.
He highlighted that it is in an initial stage that requires the joint effort of all actors, public and private, to promote its potential so that visitors and users can enjoy the main attractions of the Dominican Republic.
