Intrant Expands Operations to Punta Cana, Establishing Office to Serve Tour Operators

Hugo Beras, executive director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant), left a service office of the Directorate of Supervision and Control of Road Penalties of said entity, with the support of the Puntacana Group, Punta Cana International Airport, and the Eastern Airports Corporation for attention to tourist transport operators.

Intrant grupo PCThe director of the Intrant reported that said office has the purpose of providing service and assistance to tourist transport operators in that region, and that they can carry out the legal procedures related to road operations or sanctions that they may have, in a dignified space for the user.

He explained that, “we are leaving the new office at the Punta Cana Airport enabled, which will be working on the inspections with our collaborators and mainly ensuring the proper functioning of tourist transport in this demarcation and the behavior of its drivers.”

Beras said that after the visits and work of the Intrant to regulate the tourist transport service in the area of Bavaro and Punta Cana Thanks to the support of the Punta Cana Airport and the Corporación de Aeropuertos del Este, a space was assigned to the institution in Terminal A of said airport, to offer a better experience to users.

On his side, the Punta Cana Airport Security Manager, Miguel Martinez RoaHe valued the measure as positive and thanked Intrant for this initiative.

It is recalled that the Intrant, through the Directorate of Supervision and Control of Road Sanctions, monitors, regulates, and supervises the operations of the transport service, to ensure compliance with regulations and the road safety of users, in accordance with what is established Law 63-17.

The new Intrant office in Punta Cana will offer the payment service for sanctions and procedures for the return of retained vehicles, from Monday to Friday from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon.
