Punta Cana. Spanish investment in the Dominican tourism sector is $6 billion. The president of the tourism commission of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Ricardo Felip, stated that this investment could continue to grow due to constant confidence in the country’s tourism development.

Felip emphasized that tourism in the Dominican Republic is currently number one and the Spanish tourism sector has invested significantly in the destination. He predicts that investments will continue to increase.

Spanish investment accounts for 60% of the rooms in the country, with 24 hotel chains of Spanish capital operating 98 hotels.

The president of the tourism commission of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Ricardo Felip, made these statements at the Asonahores Commercial Exhibition. The chamber signed an agreement with the Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) to promote economic and tourism projects that improve trade relations between the two countries.

Felip also mentioned interest in investing in destinations like Pedernales. He believes that as the destination becomes more mature, more Spanish hotel chains will establish a presence there.
