The Minister of Labor from Santo Domingo, Luis Miguel De Camps García, has been selected to represent the country at the Dominican Week in the United States 2024. This event is organized by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR).
The participation of this official is among the measures that Luis Abinader’s government is taking in an effort to attract foreign investment to the nation and create new employment opportunities.
On Monday, September 30 at 4 PM at the Georgetown Law Campus, Georgetown University in Washington DC, De Camps will be at the forefront of the discussion titled “Application of North American standards and Launch of the Investor Guide of the American Chamber of Commerce”.
Others joining the conversation include, Everett Eissentstat, a partner at Squire Patton Boggs; AMCHAMDR’s executive vice president, William Malamud; León Patiño, who serves as vice president of legal and international affairs at PALMCORP; and Alvaro Santos, a faculty director at the Center for the Advancement of the Rule of Law in the Americas (CAROLA) at Georgetown Law.
During the event, he plans to engage in meetings that may benefit his department’s interests and to connect with prominent Dominicans from both the cultural and economic sectors within the United States.
The Dominican Week, an initiative by AMCHAMDR, plays a crucial role in showcasing the Dominican market as a potential destination for investment, commerce, and tourism, as well as in advertising the country’s broad array of goods and services for export.
This occasion serves as a platform to devise and channel efforts focusing on strengthening the solidarity spirit amongst Dominicans.
