The Ministry of Tourism, through the deputy ministry of quality, has awarded the “Qualitur” Tourism Quality Standards Certificate to a trio of hotel properties. This acknowledgement, aimed at recognizing and certifying entities in the Tourism sector that fulfill specific requirements and pass an inspection process, elevates the total to 27 establishments that have been evaluated and granted this seal.
In July 2022, we were reminded of this seal’s purpose, which is to authenticate the Tourism sector’s enterprises that employ commendable practices in their service provision. This is with the goal of guaranteeing the satisfaction of the tourists, the condition of the facilities, safety, and the destination itself.
An orderly, demanding, and comparable process is implemented for inspection tasks by the Ministry of Tourism, through the Deputy Ministry of Quality of Tourism Services. As per an account given by a property representative, an international team thoroughly examines every part of the establishment during their visit. They are responsible for approving and granting certification.
In line with this, the certificates were awarded a week ago to three hotels: Embassy Suites By Hilton Santo Domingo, Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino by Marriott, and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. The awards were given under the auspices of the October Board of Directors of the Association of Hotels of Santo Domingo (AHSD), held at the Kimpton Hotel, and presented by the Vice Minister of Tourism, Roberto Henríquez.
The process is ongoing and we anticipate that more establishments will join this certificate program. Presently, 27 establishments including 22 hotels, 2 restaurants and 3 travel agencies are accredited:

1 Kimpton Las Mercedes
2 Meliá Punta Cana Beach Wellness
…
