Mitur Report: 8.3 Million Visitors Arrived in the Country in the First 9 Months of the Year

holy sunday. – The Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) shared a report yesterday, Saturday, November 2, about Dominican tourism. They highlighted that it continued to grow steadily in 2024. According to the report, there were 8,362,285 visitors in the January-September period. This is the highest number of visitors in history at this time.

During the latest period, the country received 6,430,400 air tourists and 1,931,896 cruise passengers. This makes a total of 8,362,295 visitors. “That broke our own record,” Collado stated.

In the first nine months of 2024, this represented a 45% increase compared to the same period in 2019. It was 36% above 2022 and 10% above 2023.

Collado projected 11.5 million visitors to arrive by the end of the year. This will set a new record.

The U.S is the leading tourist-emitting country with 39% of visitors. It’s followed by Canada with 9%, Colombia 8%, Argentina 6%, and England with 4%.
