He expressed that the medium-term goals include managing the investment of 3,000 tourist rooms in Montecristi and achieving profitability in the international airport. They aim to bring at least five international flights to the tourist destination.

He highlighted their work with business, energy, Montecristi Tourist Cluster, and others to raise the level of the tourist destination and recover economic development.

Rodríguez Rosario highlighted their focus on promoting Montecristi’s extraordinary natural conditions to the world. They aim to promote the El Morro beach, the Siete Hermanos keys, and the favorable climate for beach tourism, being one of the areas with the lowest rainfall in the country.

He explained that the commission seeks governability to manage the necessary works in the province, especially in the tourism field and in improving basic services.

“Some of the goals set are the installation of customs, fuel, and immigration at the airport, along with building a runway five thousand meters long,” he added.

The businessman highlights that Montecristi is the fifth tourist hub in the country. He also points out that this province is protected under law 158-01 on tourism incentives and promotion, from which he highlights that they receive very few resources with respect to the investment they what this ministry does in other tourist centers such as Punta Cana and Las Terrenas.
