New direct flight service between Germany and the Dominican Republic aimed at boosting tourism.

They sign an agreement at the ITB Berlin fair to strengthen Dominican tourism in these markets.

The tourism minister, David Collado, made agreements with different airlines at the fair ITB Berlin to guarantee direct flights between Germany and the Dominican Republic, as part of the strategies of strengthening tourism Dominican in these markets.

The agreements were carried out between Condor Airline with 9 weekly flights from Frankfurt distributed between Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Puerto Plata, Discover the airline has 5 weekly flights from Frankfurt to Punta Cana, and Edelwisse Air has three weekly flights to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana from Zurich.

In 2023, the Dominican Republic received 146,242 visitors from Germany, making it the 4th most important tourist issuing country for our country, while from Switzerland we received 42,514, ranking 7th in issuing tourists from Europe.

During his work agenda in Berlin, the minister also held a roadshow for 260 travel agents, tour operators, and German airlines, an initiative that has been carried out by the Ministry of Tourism already on 58 occasions in the United States, Canada, Europe, and LATAM, in the period of three years.
