Gonzalo del Peón, Group President, Global Commercial, Inclusive Collection, part of World of Hyatt reported that the opening of six hotels will take place in the next six months of 2024, which will add a total of more than 4,406 rooms in Mexico , Dominican Republic and St. Lucia, as well as the expected start of operations of its new Hyatt Vivid brand, and the addition of Mazatlán as a new destination in the company's portfolio in Mexico.
Peón offered the information when holding a meeting in Mexico City with the group's partners and related parties where he indicated that in the last two years, the company has reported great growth in income and the hotel owners have enjoyed great benefits; and new attractions and new properties have been innovated to satisfy the most demanding guests.
The six-month period includes the Sunscape Coco Punta Cana with a total of 1,091 rooms that began receiving guests on November 30, 2023. It is followed by the Sunscape Dominicus La Romana with 854 rooms that will open on January 15, 2024 In parallel, that same day Secrets Tides will open its doors with 854 rooms.
Similarly, Secrets St. Lucia with 342 hotels will be another of the hotels that is planned to open in 2024. And in Mexico, the Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres with 507 suites is planned to open in February 2024.
The Dreams Estrella del Mar Mazatlán Golf & Spa Resorts is planned to open in April 2024, which will mark a milestone by being the first under the all-inclusive luxury model to operate in the Pearl of the Mexican Pacific. This family hotel will have a water park, an artificial river, several swimming pools and 358 suites with sea views – including 29 swim-out suites and a special section only for adults -, which will be located on a 5-hectare plot of land with a frontage of 293 meter beach. The resort will have an elegant design inspired by the Historic Center of Mazatlán, which will highlight the beauty and vegetation of the region.
