Now is the Ideal Time to Invest in Dominican Republic Real Estate

PUNTA CANA, LA ALTAGRACIA PROVINCE – Yahaira Batista, from Noval Properties in Santo Domingo, acknowledges that the Dominican Republic is an ideal investment destination. She correlates this to the current positive economic, political, and social environment.

“The Dominican market is thriving and attracting increasing amounts of foreign investment,” Batista commented. “Noval and other firms are bringing in new foreign investors keen on taking advantage of the country’s growth climate.”

She stated that foreign investors are investing their capital in the country due to tax benefits and the picturesque beaches.

“Foreign investors prefer simplicity. Moreover, a study reveals that 52 million Americans invest outside their country, and the average investment is around US$392 thousand,” she highlights.

She attributes 4% of this investment to North American citizens. Batista believes this represents a significant market for real estate agents.

“Local investors or the Dominican diaspora are relatively limited. Approximately three million Dominican investors typically invest less than US$250 thousand each.”

Noval in 2024

According to her, Noval Properties has seen positive sales this year. The company attributes this to quality of their products, strategic location, efficient teams, faith shown by real estate agencies, and excellent service.

“At Noval, we are performing well. RE/MAX Paradise’s sales figures are almost the same as last year, as are Urban Group’s,” she says.

She believes the market has returned to its normal rhythm before the pandemic. “People are making intelligent investments, not panic buying as they did during the pandemic,” she observes.

Positive Outlook

She predicts that investments will continue throughout the year. Therefore, she believes it’s the perfect time to invest, especially in property, which she considers the most feasible and tangible investment.
