Punta Cana. – The Frank and Haydée Rainieri Foundation, Junior Achievement Dominicana (JA Dominicana) and Grupo Puntacana announced an alliance for the implementation of the Digital Woman program in the eastern region of the country. This program will offer free technical training to vulnerable women in areas such as soft skills, financial education, web development, coding, cybersecurity, among others.
The agreement, which will be valid for two years, will directly benefit approximately 50 women with comprehensive technological training and later job management for graduates.
Frank Rainieri, President and Founder of the Frank and Haydée Rainieri Foundations and Grupo Puntacana, highlighted that “we support the Digital Woman initiative with the aim of promoting the labor insertion of women in STEM careers that promote innovation, the development of technologies and the growth of companies, which contributes to the economic and social development of their families”. Support for initiatives like this is part of the vision of sustainable development that we have always implemented in all the companies of Grupo Puntacana.
While César Asiatico, Executive Director of JA Dominicana, pointed out that “we are very happy to work in collaboration with the Frank and Haydée Rainieri Foundation and Grupo Puntacana through this program that is unprecedented in the country and is aligned with its sustainable development strategy for the Eastern region”.
Asiático emphasized, “Mujer Digital seeks to provide opportunities for women in vulnerable conditions so that they can prepare themselves in technological skills and at the same time help them to enter the workforce, contributing to improve their quality of life.”
Present at this important agreement were Francesca Rainieri, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Grupo Puntacana and Paúl Beswick, director of the Grupo Puntacana Foundation; by Junior Achievement Dominicana Alina Matos, President of the Council and Consuelo Linares, Vice President.
Digital Woman is a program promoted by the IDB Lab at the regional level designed for women residing in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica, who have completed secondary education, a computer and internet access to receive training.
How can they participate?
The program offers 100% scholarships and to enroll, interested women must enter the page www.jamujerdigital.org and fill in your details in the online form. If they meet the requirements, they will be contacted to continue the selection process.
This initiative seeks to support women who are not currently enrolled in the higher education system and who do not have stable formal employment. In addition, it will seek to include women belonging to minority groups such as migrants or victims of displacement, belonging to an ethnic group, etc.
